A sparse crowd of men women and children, some holding umbrellas, is on the sidewalk in the background. The street is wet. People watch the parade from upper story windows in the background. Description: Long purple cape with very wide (6 1/2") fan shaped collar. Collar has been stiffened to enable it to stand up. No fasteners. Gathered at shouder line. Hem has been turned up 4" and sewn by hand. Original data states that the cape was possibly worn by Cindy Kovalenko, Sumner, WA, Daffodil Festival Queen in 1981. Upon display at the 2012 Daffodil Festival luncheon, it was thought the cape was from an earlier time, during the 1950s.

Description: First place trophy awarded to the drill team representing the Sons and Daughters of Italy in the 1939 Daffodil Festival parade. Made by Wallace Trophy. Silver plated (?) with gold wash on interior, trophy is in shape of an inverted cone with long curving handles on two sides. Scalloped design with extension at top of each handle. Diagonal rope/bead design around rim. Round base of metal trophy attached to round, black plastic base. Base is hollow and has extended edge.

Description: Drill team uniform for the Virtus lodge No. 1243, Sons of Italy, used by Katherine Riggio Wells, ca. 1939. Parts consist of: a) jacket; b) skirt; c) hat; and d) belt. All made of rayon type cloth. Jacket, skirt, and belt made of off-white or "ivory" colored fabric; machine stitched. Jacket has fitted bodice with long darts on front and back, inset sleeves with turned up gold colored cuff, gold colored pointed color. Front is closed with three straps snapped in place across front. Straps made of gold colored grosgrain ribbon. Covered buttons on each end. Slight flare to skirt of jacket. Skirt is A-line with waistband and inverted pleat at center front and back. Opening on left side closed with hook and eyes at waistband and snaps on slit below. Hat made of gold colored rayon type fabric. Oval shaped with stiff and wide upright brim (3 3/4"). Stiffener may be cardboard. Belt made of off-white fabric. Long and narrow with diagonally cut end. Multiple rows of stitching over surface. Attached at opposite end is buckle made of black plastic and covered with gold colored rayon type fabric.
