Description: Ceremonial banner, used by Independent Order of Odd Fellows, 1900-1950. Manufacturer unknown. Made of dark blue polished cotton and backed with maroon cloth. All edges decorated with gold metallic thread lace which leaves a scalloped edge. Lower edge has additional gold metallic fringe with pair of tassels hanging from higher points of scalloped end. Painted on surface in gold are several designs. Beginning at top is a hand with heart form at center, then a pair of angels kneeling on a coffin like structure. Below is an ax and a Christian cross with snake wrapped around it. At lower end is a depiction of Earth showing the western hemisphere. Intertwined around illustrations is scroll design in narrow green lines.

Painted on surface of silk in gold are illustrations of a quiver of arrows and bundle of sticks at bottom. At top is a bow with crosssed areas. Around the illustrations is a scroll design in thin green lines.
