Description: Black and white glass plate negative taken March 11, 1909 in Seattle, WA. Image shows the view looking south on Third Avenue from Marion Street. Two sets of trolley tracks run down the center of the cobblestone street. There are several horse drawn wagons in the street and heavy pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks. In the distance a man rides a bicycle next to a trolley. The Central Building, located at 808 3rd Avenue, is on the left. The area in the foreground on the right side of the street is under construction. A sign on a shed reads: Stores ready April 1st. The sidewalk has been partially blocked off with wooden partitions. A man and woman in a large hat walk arm in arm toward the viewer to the left of the partition. To the right a man is kneeling and working on the sidewalk while other men stand and observe. The New Western Hotel is located on the right at 817 3rd Avenue. Taken for A. J. Fisken.
