Field Trip Scholarships

KidsinGreatHall3We want to help all Washington State students connect with our state’s history. To support that goal, we are launching a new field trip scholarship program to provide financial aid for underserved schools.

Applications for the first round of scholarships are due December 7, 2018. Applicants will be notified by January 1, 2019.

Who can apply?

  • Teachers who would like to bring their classes on a field trip to the Washington State History Museum.
  • These scholarships are only for students in schools where 50% or more of students receive free or reduced-price lunches. If you are not sure if this applies to you, please check by looking your school up on the OSPI's Student Demographic website.

Other Field Trip Funding Resources:

  • Admission cost for all self-guided and History Lab field trips is based on a sliding scale, even for groups not awarded a scholarship. Learn more on our Field Trips webpage
  • We also have a limited amount of bus funding to support groups who plan to visit the museum before March.

If you have any questions about the Field Trip Scholarships application process or program, please email
