"Sexism Still Winning Gold in Olympic Coverage"
with Dr. Deborah A. Macey
The politics of gender, race, class, and nationality often get played out on athletes’ bodies. Join UWT Lecturer Dr. Deborah A. Macey as she examines how the Olympic Games provide a venue for study of these issues. This presentation will take a brief historical look at the politics of gender, race, and class in representations of Olympic athletes, focusing particularly on female athletes from the Rio Games.
Admission to Scholarly Selections lectures and the museum is free during Third Thursdays, from 2–8pm.
