Join us for a discussion about Black History Month and Esi Edugyan's award-winning novel Washington Black. UWT Senior Lecturer in History Libi Sundermann, PhD, explores how the enslaved protagonist of Washington Black reflects the real-life knowledge contributions of enslaved peoples and advances that were claimed by European scientists in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
