Published for members since 1987, COLUMBIA: The Magazine of Northwest History features generously illustrated articles by leading writers and scholars on a wide variety of historical topics. The magazine examines the continuing dialogue between past and present as well as the relationship between local history and the broad pattern of regional or national events.

Members receive COLUMBIA Magazine quarterly.

A valued benefit of Historical Society membership, COLUMBIA includes commentaries and book reviews, historical photographs, maps, drawings, paintings, and ephemera, often from the Society’s own collections. Members receive COLUMBIA in their mail boxes four times per year.The magazine can also be mailed to non-member subscribers.

AASLH Award of Merit

COLUMBIA received a Board Award of Excellence from the Washington Museum Association in 2015 and a Leadership in History Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History in 2016.
