Schools and Education

The Washington State Historical Society offers a variety of educational services to the schools and educational institutions of Washington State. From museum field trips, to outreach services, and a host of available publications, we are here to support the educator's efforts to teach the story of Washington. Select from any of the items below to find what you need. Or simply ask us a question.

A HISTORY BOX has been developed for classroom use and contains: curriculum plans, maps, books, period toys, clothing, classroom items, the "What is This?" collection, and early Olympia memorabilia. Artifacts and four notebooks of reproduced historic photographs can be used to create an in-class exhibit. Recommended for pre-visit classroom preparation. $20 for one week and $25 for two weeks. Call Susan Rohrer at (360) 753-2580, or send an email to srohrer@wshs.wa.gov.
