WASHINGTON STATE HISTORY MUSEUM’S ANNUAL MODEL TRAIN FESTIVAL ‘COMING DOWN THE TRACKS’

Pulling into the ‘Station’ Dec. 26 – Jan. 3

TACOMA-Nov. 17–Get out your conductor’s hat for the Washington State History Museum’s 13th Annual Model Train Festival! Every floor of the Museum will house model trains from Dec. 26 through Jan. 3. This event, included in the price of Museum admission, celebrates the golden age of railroads with nine model train displays and fun for all ages. The Annual Model Train Festival draws the largest attendance of the year for the History Museum, increasing admission seven times the Museum’s weekly average during the festival.

This year’s Festival features layouts from

• Kid’s Play G-Scale
• Mary’s Big Circus
• Mount Rainier N-Scale
• Pierce County Lionel Club
• Tacoma Northwestern Model Railroad Club
• a LEGO® holiday display by TrainBuilder Productions
• a Playmobil® display by Steven Goldenbogen
• a booth from the Washington State Operation Lifesaver
• The largest permanent model train layout in the state by the Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers

ParentMap and the Children’s Museum Tacoma will provide hands-on activities for the youngest train fans Dec. 27 and 28.

HOURS - Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., with extended hours and FREE admission every third Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. The Museum is open Sunday noon – 5 p.m.
ADMISSION -
$25 for families (two adults and up to four children); $8 for adults; $7 for seniors, age 60 and above; $6 for students and military with valid ID; children, age 5 and below, and members are always FREE.
