TACOMA – Sept. 22 – The Washington State History Museum and YWCA Pierce County are presenting a
film exploring racial and social justice, and inviting audience members to participate in a community
conversation following the film.
This is the first film of a four-part series and discussion on racial and social justice offered by the
organizations. Films and discussions are scheduled for when the Museum is FREE and open to the public,
from 5-8 p.m. on selected Thursdays.
“The Color of Fear,” will be shown Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. this Thursday in the Museum’s Mount Tahoma Auditorium.
Following the film will be an interactive audience discussion with Jennine Devenuti, volunteer and
community resource coordinator for YWCA Pierce County.
Sept. 25 – “The Color of Fear”
This 1994 documentary by Lee Mun Wah interviews eight men of various ethnicities about their experiences dealing with racism and prejudice. The men explore how racism has impacted their lives and after listening to one another, come to an understanding of each other’s views. Following the film, Jennine Devenuti, volunteer and community resource coordinator for YWCA Pierce County, will lead the audience discussion.
