Every Saturday, January through March 2022, 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Families can participate in themed, self-guided activities at the History Museum every Saturday of the month! Each month will feature a different focus that lets you do the work of history, collaboratively! Bring your family, your curiosity, and time to explore, and we’ll provide the rest.
January theme: Pieces of the History Puzzle
Discover what stories objects can tell. We’ll provide a historian’s notebook so that you can explore the museum and practice asking questions and finding answers, just like a historian.
Want a preview? Click below to download the Historian’s Notebook. Print double-sided and fold in the center. You can also get this notebook at the museum on Saturday.Historian’s Notebook
February theme: Point of View
An explorer’s ship entering an inlet looks very different depending on whether you’re on the ship or on the shore. Look through the eyes of historical figures and discover how the perception of the same event varies depending on your point of view.
March theme: Who makes history?
Work as a family team to explore the variety of ways that humans record our history, and even record some of your own!
