New: Heritage Outreach Fund

Washington’s cultural institutions were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Community-run museums, cultural centers, and tribal museums were unable to open or engage with the public for more than a year. Throughout the pandemic, the Washington State Historical Society’s Heritage Outreach team has provided FREE online learning sessions, resources, professional development opportunities, and individual consultations to help cultural organizations respond to and recover from the crisis. Now, we’ve created a fund to continue to provide expertise at no cost to these vital institutions so they can thrive. Your gift to the Heritage Outreach Fund enables us to:

Create new resources and professional development opportunities for heritage organizations in communities like yours across the state;
Develop high-quality portable exhibitions that can be used by local history museums to attract new audiences;
Provide training to small organizations that will help them better care for their collections, share the history of local communities, and continue to provide local jobs and volunteer opportunities.
