[Tree cutting on Bush homestead]

Photographs ran September 27, p. 1 and accompanied an article about the operation, which occurred on the historic homestead of pioneer George [Washington] Bush, Tumwater, WA, Thurston County. w. LeRoy (Red) West was the owner of the property (Mrs. West was a great-granddaughter of Bush). Swante Kyllonen was the veteran tree topper. The tree was 112 feet high and a hazard to airplanes at the nearby Olympia Regional Airport.
