Applique quilt, with pomegranate, aka. Love Apple quilt pattern, with red print possibly predating 1860. Quilt made of 20 blocks arranged 4x5. Blocks appliqed in red and yellow prints, with solid green stem, rind, and leaves. Half of the blocks are stitched in a reverse image, resulting in half of the blocks tilting to the center from the left side of quillt top and half tilting to center from the right. Bordered on four sides in sawtooth design, pieced in red print, outlining both inner and outer edge of border. Hand applique and hand quilted. Back made of muslin. Binding is 1/4 ", green, same as rind on pomegranate. Unknown maker/date, mid 19th century.
