    Photographic print, a large group of elementary age children sit in chairs listening to a radio program broadcast at the Central School, Pierce County, Tacoma, Washington, Marvin Boland, photographer, Sept. 19, 1930. The children include boys and girls and many of the children are Japanese Americans. Some of the girls wear traditional Japanese kimonos. One of the boys sitting in the front row wears a boy scout uniform. A large radio is located on a raised stage in front of the large assembly room or auditorium. A male teacher (or principal) stands towards the rear of the room and a piano and American flags are visible in the background.
