A photographic postcard showing Ezra Meeker's covered wagon at a camp on a grass lot in Seattle, WA (in Luna Park) after returning from Washington, D.C. in 1908. Two oxen are hitched to the wagon. A man wearing a dark shirt and pants, suspenders and a hat stands next to the oxen with his hand on the yoke looking away from the camera. This is, presumably, Bruce Mardon, the driver. Another man wearing a dark jacket, pants, tie and hat stands next to him holding a dog. Sitting on the wagon driver's seat are two women wearing hats. A boy sits astride the wagon box. A small American flag is attached to the wagon's cover above his head. Attached to the side of the wagon cover is a promotional banner. The writing isn't completely legible but it says, in part: Old Oregon Trail Monument Expedition Left Puyallup near Tacoma, Wash. Jan 29th 1906 Arrived in Washington, D.C. November 29th 1907 Distance 3650 Miles. The banner also advertises postcards and a book. On the wagon box there is a small framed portrait of Ezra Meeker. To the right of the wagon sits a large white conical tent. Several unidentifed buidlings can be seen in the background. White lettering across the bottom of the image reads: Ezra Meeker's Ox Team at Camp in Seattle After a Drive from Seattle Washington to Wash. D. C. and Return Distence [sic.] 7300 Miles, Bruce Mardon Driver, O.T. Frasch Seattle-168.
