Printed on front is large retangular illustration of lady with long red hair, holding a dagger. Over illustration are lines of illegible writing. Legible writing on illustration has the name of opera, "Norma", and name of Seattle Opera and date.

    Watercolor painting on paper. The scene is of two woman inside a room. Both are kneeling on the floor, one is using a metate and mano to grind grain and the other is making a tortilla. On the floor is a ceramic bowl and two flat trays with dough on them. There is also a round griddle on a pedestal base. There are several tortillas on the griddle. One woman wears a blue skirt and a blue blouse with white peplum and sleeves. She has a red ribbon in her hair. The other woman wears a blue and white striped dress with a red hair ribbon and necklace. On the wall are three rectangular items which may be paintings. The central one has a candle and flowers below it and a cross above it. The painting is glued to a sheet of lined paper with the number 17 printed in the top right corner. Another painting (1952.55.11) is glued to the other side.
