    Belt, Arctic culture area / Eskimo, late 19th century. Handmade. Made with two strips of fur that are sewn together with sinew. Underside is made of sealskin. The outer strip is made of pieces of long brown to tan color fur (wolverine?), with claws attached. Attached toward one end is an oval shaped box with lid. Box is made of birchbark over wood, with added base. Both box and lid are attached to belt by short leather strips. Near box is a small piece of bone that is rectangular with curved top, possibly a lid. Attached near end end of belt is a small U shaped pouch.
